The Little Lacrosse Academy offers more than just an introductory lacrosse class for boys and girls one to eight years old. We offer the opportunity for children to learn and grow in a positive, nurturing, and enthusiastic environment. Our programs are focused on learning through play. Research has shown that play helps children develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain self-confidence. More importantly, children learn how to navigate their future interpersonal relationships from their social interactions in early childhood. When children play together, they learn to celebrate differences as they cooperate and collaborate, creating empathetic problem solvers. When a child’s play is guided, the child establishes trust, respect, and confidence, which are essential aspects to a lifelong love of learning.

Cradle Babies is a 50 minute parent/child class designed for boys and girls ages two and under. Walking must be mastered in order for your child to attend. Cradle Babies is a fun introduction to the Little Lacrosse Academy, but is not a required starting point. This high-energy class introduces basic movement in a fun and engaging way that not only builds an appreciation for physical activity, but helps to develop fine and gross motor skills. Over the course of twelve weeks, toddlers, with the help of their parents, will mimic movements, learn pace (tiptoe/walk/run), explore colors, and engage with peers. All while building a love for lacrosse.
2 to 3.5 year olds
Tiny Tots is a 50 minute parent/child class designed for boys and girls ages two to three and a half years old. It is an ideal next step for Little Lacrosse Academy veterans or an introductory class for new players who are not yet ready for the independence of Fiddlesticks. Tiny Tots introduces children and their parents to organized games that develop the concept of teamwork, listening to instruction, and being active. All while building a love for lacrosse.

Futures is a 60 minute gender-specific youth development program for boys and girls ages five to eight. These fast-paced, team-oriented “practices” are an ideal introduction to the more structured world of organized youth lacrosse but provide the same fun and nurturing spin the Little Lacrosse Academy prides itself on. While lacrosse fundamentals will continue to be a major focus, gender-specific rules/strategies will be introduced, and working as a team and fostering cooperation will be a point of emphasis. Children can bring their own equipment if they desire, otherwise equipment will be provided. Girls and boys are required to wear a mouth guard every class. It is encouraged but optional for girls to wear goggles; it is encouraged but optional for boys to wear a helmet and gloves.
