FAQ's

Let’s face it, most people have lots of questions when it comes to our program. Toddlers and lacrosse aren’t typically synonymous with one another. And rarely, if ever, are they used in the same sentence. But the Little Lacrosse Academy is ready to change that. Whether your child is one or seven, is a beginner lacrosse player or a veteran, the Little Lacrosse Academy is THE place for them to grow, develop, and build a love for lacrosse. Check out our list of most frequently asked questions below. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Get in touch!

Classes

Where are the Little Lacrosse Academy’s classes and/or programs offered?

Check our Locations page for the most up to date listing of class locations.

Please note that we also offer preschool programs year-round. These are the perfect compliment to a school’s physical education curriculum or a fabulous after-school offering. For more information on our preschool program, please email info@littlelacrosseacademy.com.

How many classes are in each session?

The Little Lacrosse Academy offers lacrosse classes year-round in six-, eight-, and twelve- week sessions. The number of classes in a given session is dependent upon the season enrolled and location of interest. Sessions are grouped into the following seasons: fall (September-November), winter (December-February), spring (March-May), and summer (June-July).

Equipment

What should my child wear?

We encourage children to wear comfortable clothing and athletic (closed-toe) footwear. The same goes for parents if you are enrolled in a parent/child class. Classes are held both indoors and outdoors dependent upon location, program enrolled, and the season (fall, winter, spring, summer).

What equipment is required?

For all of our classes, we provide all equipment to include age-appropriate (and size-appropriate) lacrosse sticks and balls. This goes for our Cradle Babies, Tiny Tots, Fiddlesticks, Laxaroos, and Skill Builder classes.

Our Skill Builder Program (6 – 7 year olds) is a youth development program and requires the use of a mouth guard. We ask that participants purchase prior to the start of each session and wear to every class. All other equipment will be provided unless participants prefer to bring their own. Girls are required to wear goggles. Boys are required to wear a helmet; gloves are optional.

What type of balls are used?

The Little Lacrosse Academy is a proud partner of Swax Lax thus all of our classes utilize Swax Lax balls. They are fantastic for developing muscle memory even for our littlest athletes without comprising safety and the integrity of the equipment that we use.
